BBN Chambers:

BBN Chambers is a unique and progressive set of chambers based in Blackburn Lancashire, in the north west of England. Mr Imran Majid who is counsel at this set of chambers, has 20 years of experience within the legal profession.

Upon completing the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law in Chester, Mr Majid spent 1999 working at local law firms before moving to London. In London Mr Majid worked for The Afro-Asian Advisory Service, which was a Law Centre providing Immigration services in the Camberwell Green. Mr Majid regularly appeared in the Immigration tribunals at Taylor House and Hatton Cross representing appellants in various cases, involving asylum applications, family settlement, spouse visa applications and student applications.

In 2002 Mr Majid returned to the north west and worked on a large scale fraud case with a Criminal defence firm in Bury. Shortly after he obtained a training contract and in February 2004 qualified as a Solicitor, with one of the biggest high street practices in the region. During his time as a trainee and post qualification Mr Majid honed his skills as a criminal practitioner in the local police stations. Mr Majid also set up an immigration department and continued where he left off in London, by representing people in Immigration tribunals around the country.

In 2005, Mr Majid joined a practice in Sheffield, where he started fully practicing as a Criminal defence practitioner. Over the years, he worked in Cheshire and Merseyside, Leicestershire and then Blackpool.

From 2010 Mr Majid spent several years in Blackpool, running the satellite office for a Manchester based firm. During that time, he spent a lot of time in the Crown Court sitting behind Counsel, watching and learning. Mr Majid also conducted his own hearings as a Solicitor in the Crown Court such as appeals and sentences.

In 2016 Mr Majid obtained his qualifications as a Higher Rights Advocate, after which he spent most of his time conducting cases in the Crown Court. Mr Majid appeared in some high profile conspiracy cases including a human trafficking and modern slavery case. He also gained a degree of experience in sex cases.

In October 2017, Mr Majid was called to the Bar by The Honourable Society of Middle Temple. He then joined a set of Chambers in Leeds and Bradford as a tenant. During his time as a tenant, Mr Majid has had a practice in criminal prosecution and criminal defence. He has also had an Immigration practice. Representing people nationally.
